1986 slogan for Coca-Cola

The “Guinness is good for you” slogan was coined in the 1920’s after Guinness drinkers had claimed they felt better after having a pint of the black stuff. The slogan ran for decades and proved a huge success until a few decades ago when they were told they could no longer use it as an advertising slogan (The “Guinness is good for you” slogan is still banned despite BBC discovering that Guinness is actually good for you).

Let’s start off with one of the most powerful slogans in the world. Nike’s  ”Just Do It” slogan made it’s debut in July 1st 1988 after being coined by Dan Weiden from the infamous Wieden+Kennedy advertising agency. Nike are still using this slogan which has been rated by Advertising Age as one of the top five ad slogans of the 20th century.
